We're straight up about how we handle your info. Read through to see what we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe.
Look, we get it - nobody actually reads these things. But here's the deal: at Obsidry Empire Fitness, we're not about selling your data or doing shady stuff behind your back. This policy breaks down what info we collect when you train with us, sign up for programs, or just browse our site.
We're based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, so we follow all the privacy laws that apply here including PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). We take this seriously because trust is everything in our community.
Bottom line? We collect what we need to run a top-notch training facility and provide you with the best coaching experience. Nothing more, nothing less.
When you become part of the Empire, we'll ask for stuff like:
Like most websites, we grab some technical data:
If you're working with our coaches, we track:
We're not collecting this stuff just to have it sitting around. Here's what we actually do with it:
Processing memberships, scheduling training sessions, managing class bookings, and handling payments. Basic operations stuff.
Personalizing your training programs, tracking your gains, adjusting nutrition plans, and making sure you're progressing safely toward your goals.
Sending class schedules, program updates, gym announcements, and occasionally some motivation. You can opt out of the marketing emails anytime.
Emergency contacts, health info for injury prevention, and keeping records for legal compliance. We've got your back.
Analyzing how people use our programs and website to improve services, add new classes, and create better training experiences.
Security isn't just about locking the weights room at night. We take digital security seriously too:
That said, no system is 100% bulletproof. We do everything reasonable to protect your data, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If there's ever a breach that affects you, we'll let you know ASAP.
Under Canadian privacy law, you've got some solid rights when it comes to your personal info:
You can ask to see what personal info we have about you. We'll provide it within 30 days.
If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
Want us to delete your data? We'll do it unless we legally need to keep it.
Don't want marketing emails? Unsubscribe anytime - there's a link in every email we send.
To exercise any of these rights, just shoot us an email at info@obsidrynempire.info or call us at (604) 555-2847. We'll need to verify it's actually you before making changes, but we'll get it sorted quickly.
We don't keep your info forever. Here's generally how long we hold onto different types of data:
After these periods, we securely delete or anonymize the data. If you want us to delete something sooner, just ask.
Our programs are designed for adults (18+) and teens training under parental supervision. If you're under 18, we need a parent or guardian's consent before collecting any personal info.
For youth athletes (ages 14-17), we require a parent or guardian to complete registration forms and provide emergency contact information. We don't knowingly collect data from kids under 14 without explicit parental consent.
Parents - if you think we've collected info about your child without proper consent, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
We might update this policy occasionally as we grow, add services, or if privacy laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll let you know via:
The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page shows when the most recent changes were made. We'd recommend checking back every now and then, but we'll make sure you know about anything important.
If you've got questions about this privacy policy, want to exercise your rights, or have concerns about how we're handling your data, we're here to help.
